Welcome to the official page of the USDA Juneteenth Roundtable at GLIDE, organized by Iglesia Cristiana Getsemani. As a leading Community and Society - Faith and Beliefs organization, we are delighted to host this special event to honor and commemorate the historic Juneteenth event.

What is Juneteenth?

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is a significant day in American history. It marks the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans in the United States on June 19, 1865, following the end of the Civil War. Juneteenth is a time to reflect on the struggles and triumphs of African Americans throughout history, celebrate their achievements, and promote education and understanding.

The USDA Juneteenth Roundtable at GLIDE is an event designed to bring together community members, faith leaders, and distinguished speakers to engage in discussions about the importance of Juneteenth and its relevance in today's society.
